Count on Coal

Count on Coal

Count on Coal, a national grassroots organization with the goal of making Americans aware of the benefits of coal-generated electricity, reached out to Penn Strategies to spread this message to Pennsylvanians.

As Count on Coal`s exclusive government affairs firm in the Commonwealth, Penn Strategies spread the message of affordable and reliable coal energy at Republican and Democratic political events; events in the state capital, and even college football games.

When closure of many coal-fired power plants in Pennsylvania was pending, Penn Strategies formed bi-partisan coalitions between the Pennsylvania Coal Alliance, Count on Coal, labor unions, and industry, to stop the Environmental Protection Agency`s “war on coal”.

Penn Strategies worked to get letters of opposition to the EPA from Governor Corbett, U.S. Congressmen, state House and Senate legislative leaders, as well as community leaders, and hosted several press conferences about the dangers of the EPA`s New Source Performance Standards regulations. All events were attended by state-wide media.
