Fitzgerald graduated from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania in 2005, where he earned a degree in Political Science with a Minor in Economics. While at Lock Haven University, Fitzgerald was active in student government and was awarded the prestigious “Outstanding Student Leader on Campus Award” in his senior year.

Fitzgerald is a close advisor to numerous elected officials including Mayors, County Commissioners, State Legislators, and United States Congressmen from both political parties. From 2009 to 2016, Fitzgerald served as a consultant for numerous local, state and federal political campaigns. He was Director of Communications for former U.S. Congressman Tom Marino’s successful 2010 campaign and was Campaign manager for Diana Irey Vaughan’s campaign for State Treasurer in 2012.

Fitzgerald is a frequent contributor to several regional newspapers and served as Co-Host of the Fitz and Alivia Show on 104.1 FM (Williamsport) / 1400 AM (Jersey Shore), which featured interviews of prominent individuals in arts, entertainment, politics and thought. He also hosted a successful podcast, Pennsylvania Now, for two years.

Fitzgerald is a former Township Supervisor and member of the Williamsport Parking Authority. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Susquehanna Greenway Partnership, Community Alliance for Progressive Positive Action, Inc. (CAPPA), and Firetree Place.

Fitzgerald has been recognized by City and State Magazine as a Top 50 Pennsylvania Lobbyist in 2022 and appeared on the Who’s Who in Government Relations list in 2024.
